Pledge For Moms Announces Partnership With Save-A-Mother
I have been speaking to the Executive Director of India Development Service (IDS) Save-A-Mother Project, Rahul Singhal, about a possible partnership with Pledge For Moms. I am really excited about our plans to work together on sharing information, recruiting volunteers, and finding donors (no financial information will be collected on this site; if you are interested in donating please visit the Save-a-Mother Contribution Page)
About Save-A-Mother
Every day, over 160 women die in India from pregnancy and complications of child birth – the country’s maternal mortality rate makes up over 20% of total global maternal and child deaths. Despite successful efforts to decrease this number, many rural areas continue to experience over 500 deaths for every 100,000 live births. Save a Mother is a project dedicated to working directly with local communities and districts in Uttar Pradesh, one of the most effected areas in India, to help decrease infant and maternal mortality rates. Any preventable death is one too many.
Save-A-Mother Project’s administrative costs are $0 – every penny and resource is committed to saving mothers through education, immunization, medicine, and emergency treatment access.
About Pledge For Moms
Every woman is a daughter and every man is a son – it is our duty to protect and nourish the rights of women so that they may have the opportunity to give birth to and raise children in a safe and healthy environment. How would a boy remember his first day of school without her soft kisses and words of encouragement? How will a girl become a woman without her guidance and support?
The Pledge For Moms Project is a non-profit website launched by me, Mariya Nikiforova in 2008, tailored to encourage the online community to take part in raising awareness of the suffering of our sisters, daughters, and mothers across the globe. Working with Save-A-Mother is a great opportunity to take part in an area most effected by maternal mortality.
